Hadley's third novel sees metropolitan meddling brought to the provinces. The 43-year-old London lecturer Kate Flynn has moved back to Cardiff to take care of her elderly mother. She meets up with childhood friends including David, an unhappily married doctor and father to Jamie, his beautiful 17-year-old son.
